Procurement starts with the engineering requirement.
Give purchasing teams the job, material and stock context they need to source a requirement deliberately.
Purchasing without the full picture
A buyer needs more than a part name. They may need a quantity, destination, required date and approved engineering specification. If these details arrive in separate emails, each clarification can interrupt the sourcing process.
The difficulty continues after prices arrive: offers may use different quantities, dates or charges, and a decision can be difficult to trace back to its original requirement.
From shortage to controlled sourcing
Recon's development workflow connects uncovered job requirements to a supplier RFQ, locally recorded offers and a comparison. A buyer proposes a supplier choice; a manager reviews it before draft purchasing is prepared.
RFQ communication is preview-only and offers are entered locally. The system does not automatically contact suppliers or approve and issue purchase orders.
Follow the work, not just the records.
If a fabrication job needs a specific grade of plate, a buyer can review the uncovered quantity, prepare a request and compare recorded offers before proposing a supplier.
- Give buyers job and material context
- Compare compatible offers with recorded costs
- Separate sourcing review from order approval
The platform is in development. Screens show the development interface, named Atlas Inventory, with synthetic test data; availability and appearance may change.
